  • Herringbone Woven Tunic Tyr - Black/Grey

    2 Review(s)

Our Tunic Tyr Herringbone is a real eye-catcher. It is a long-sleeved tunic with a small slit neckline that can be embellished with a brooch, for example. It can be worn alone or with an under tunic. In terms of color our Winingas Asgar as well as our Skjoldehamm Cowl Knud, which are made of the same fabric, match it beautifully.

The tunic as such is a very old garment, which evolved from two cloths worn rectangularly attached to the shoulders by brooches to a sewn together form with sleeves. From lower garment it became upper garment, depending on the time and class. Most often it was worn belted. Tunics can also vary greatly in length. Shorter tunics are more practical for work.

Medieval tunics and Albrecht

For hours he sat in his saddle, while he became one with the swaying movements of his steed, on his way to Mainz in year 1184.

The emperor had invited and Albrecht had not hesitated for long. He had chosen his blue medieval tunic as an expression of sincerity and loyalty, ready to testify and to live it. It was more that he could hope for as the second son of an ordinary but religiously craftsman from the Odenwald.

Now he is a landless but happy knight, because of his courage and his excellent riding skill. His upper garments was thoughtful chosen. It reached down to his knees hand kept his legs warm. Because of the slots on each side he could easily ride his steed, even on long journeys like this. Also the tunic gave him the respect combined with grace and elegance, which he demanded of his peers and he hoped for from the women.

The city was not in sight yet and glory und honor still not fought, but the heaven shined bright in the colors of his medieval tunic. He was one with the world.
